Sharon Lea Russell, 82, of Ashland, NE, entered into rest on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Azria Health in Ashland, NE.  She was born August 20, 1940 in Anselmo, NE to Newell and Josephine (Burton) Leibhart.  Sharon graduated from Merna High School in 1958 and Southeast Community College with a degree in Radiologic Technology.  On January 29, 1960, Sharon was married to Roger Russell in Winner, SD.

Sharon worked as a Mammography Tech at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln, NE.  Through St. Elizabeth Hospital, Sharon helped start the Southeast Nebraska Mobile Mammography Services.  She led Bible studies for the Christian Women’s Club, and she coordinated funeral lunches for the Lincoln Berean Church.  Sharon enjoyed being Mrs. Claus and reading to the children of AG Elementary school during Christmas and she loved dancing with her husband and high school sweetheart, Roger.

She is survived by husband of 63 years, Roger Russell; children, Sherrie Benson, Wayne (Edie) Russell and Pam (Mike) Przybysz; 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; sister, Cheryl (Gene) Harmon; brother-in-law, John Bowley; sister-in-law, Jeanne Leibhart; many other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Newell and Josephine Leibhart; brothers, Clair Leibhart and Keith Leibhart; sister, Kay Bowley.
