Sheila D. Zavodny, 67 of Weston, NE passed away Thursday, October 10, 2024 at her home.   She was born August 14, 1957 in Lincoln, NE to Floyd and Beverly (Fisk) Koerner.  She graduated from Syracuse High School in 1975.  She was united in marriage to George Zavodny Jr. on June 5, 1982 at Pioneers Park in Lincoln.  Sheila worked at Kawasaki Motor Manufacturing Corporation as a welder for 31 years.

Sheila always had a smile on her face and loved her family dearly. She was loved greatly by everyone who knew her.  She enjoyed her life on the farm, camping, fishing, hunting, vacationing in State Parks and the Black Hills, spending time with her children, grandchildren and attending family reunions.

Sheila is survived by her children, Michael Shane (Christal) Zavodny of Kansas City, MO, Kerry Ann (Jennifer Weeks) Sommer of New Hampshire, Georgia Niki (Barry) Potts of Virginia Beach, VA; grandchildren, Michaela, Kylie, Austin, Ethan, Seth, Sydney, Nathan, Avalynn and Abriahna; sister, Janet Lind; mother-in-law, Delores Zavodny; brother-in-law, Alan (Sue) Zavodny; nephews, Justin Zavodny and Devon Lind

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Zavodny Jr.; parents; Floyd and Beverly Koerner; father-in-law, George Zavodny Sr.; sister-in-law, Linda Wyzard.

    I remember Shiela well. She was a year ahead of me in school. We went to school in Unadilla and Syracuse. She was in my husbands class. She was always so sweet and always had a smile for everyone. She will be truly missed.
