Sherry L. Reese, 78 of Ashland, NE passed away Sunday, November 5, 2023 at Lakeside Hospital in Omaha, NE.  She was born November 2, 1945 in Omaha to Donald and Veda (Muhleka) Watson.  She attended Omaha North High School. She was an Executive Housekeeper at several large hotels in Colorado and Nebraska throughout her career.  Sherry was an excellent boss and was loved by her employees, they could tell she truly cared for them.

She married the love of her life, James “J.J.” Reese in 1988.  She was great on the grill, potting flowers, decorating and she loved sitting outdoors.  She enjoyed watching westerns, playing card games, socializing with people and most of all, she loved spending time with her family.  Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the highlights of her life.

Sherry is survived by her children, Bryan (Lori) Powell, Mark Sr. (Michelle) Powell, Jeffrey Powell, Kerry Lundstrom; grandchildren, Tyler, Makaela & Keenan Powell, Kaelyn (Brandon) Lyons, Mark Powell Jr., Shelby (Terrell) Snell, Grace, Rylie, Mitch, and Jaxon Powell, Alex (Aleah) Powell, Anthony Powell, Ariel, Kaeli, and Madison Lundstrom; great-grandchildren, Ariyah Lampkin, Kynslee and Mylah Brunt, Jacey McKenna, Jonah Lyons, Naomi Snell; siblings, Donald (Jody) Watson, Robert “Dutch” (Chris) Watson, Roxanne Watson; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Veda Watson; husband, James “J.J. Reese; siblings, Larry Watson, Donna “Tossie” Shadlow, Nancy Buttons.
