Teresa “Dianne” Tietze, 80 of Ashland, NE entered into eternal rest on Monday, May 27, 2024 at Oxbow Living Center in Ashland, NE.  She was born December 12, 1943 in Kearney, NE to Richard “Dick” and La Verna (Fetters) Hays.  She was a graduate of Holbrook High School.  She loved working for Ron Crowe at the McCook Gazette where she created many lifelong friendships.  She also owned and operated a home improvement store in McCook.  After moving from McCook she worked for Talent Plus and the Ambassador in Lincoln for many years and made many beautiful friendships in her Lincoln neighborhood.

Dianne was a former member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in McCook.  She was an animal lover of her beloved dog, Sadie and her cat, Tom.  She enjoyed traveling, tending to her flowers and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Mike (Shelly) Tietze of Ashland, NE; daughter, Ronalee Mercer of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Shauna (Trevor) Howe, Zach Tietze, Nick Mercer, Meghann Mercer, Maddie Mercer; great-grandchildren, Zoey Howe, Kaylin Howe; special nieces, LeeAnne Hays, Jodi (Peters) Baker; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dick and Verna Hays; brothers, Jerry (Alene) Hays, Duane (Janet) Hays; special cousin, Pat (Mike) Peters.

    Condolences to your family. Mike, your description of Dianne on Facebook is so true. We are two of many cousins as our mothers were sisters from a large family. We will miss Dianne but are grateful she is at peace and pain free now. May God’s peace and comfort be with your family.
