Tom R. Christenham Sr., 81 of Ashland, NE passed away Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Lakeside Hospital in Omaha.  He was born January 25, 1939 in San Fernando, CA to Joseph and Laurena (Sitzman) Christenham.  Tom graduated from Plattsmouth High School in 1957 and entered into the U.S. Army shortly after graduation.  On September 17, 1960, he was married to Josephine “Jo” Valentio in Omaha, NE.  Tom worked for Lyman-Richey Sand & Gravel for 45 plus years before retiring.

Tom was an active member of Ashland United Methodist Church, He enjoyed traveling, Husker football games, playing Bridge, golfing, woodworking and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his children, Tony (Rachel) Christenham of Omaha, NE, Tom Jr. (Maria) Christenham of South Carolina; daughter-in-law, Patty (Pat) Kerres of Omaha, NE; grandchildren, Dylan Christenham, Connor Christenham, Lindsey Christenham, Zac (Megan) Christenham, Pat Christenham, Brittley (Chad) Smith, Nancy (Miguel) Christenham-Flores, Shawn Christenham, Lizeth Guardado, Sabina Guardado, Endira Guardado, Stephanie Torres, George Torres and Edward Torres; 20 great-grandchildren; brother, Ron Christenham of Papillion, NE; sister-in-law, Faye Christenham of Murray, NE; many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jo Christenham; daughter, Vicki Christenham; granddaughter, Elizabeth Christenham; parents, Joseph and Laurena Christenhan; brother, Robert Christenham; sister-in-law, Jacque Christenham

    This is the loss of a very good man who I regarded with great respect and appreciation. I always enjoyed the time I got to spend with him.

    Tom,Tony and families. I am so sorry for your loss. When Tom and I were last together we talked about playing golf in Ashland the following year.I will miss that opportunity. I always enjoyed his company.

    Tom, Tony, and family ….. Tom was a great friend (bowling team, golf league, Bible study, etc) ….He will be greatly missed. God Bless all of you.

    Tom and Tony I enjoyed your parents so much! They were like 2nd parents to me when I started teaching in Ashland, I could not have asked for a better friend in your mom. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
