Cyril L. “Cy” Kellner, 93 of Wahoo entered into eternal rest Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Saunders Care Center in Wahoo.  He was born August 23, 1924 to Filip & Mary (Kremlacek) Kellner in rural Weston, NE.  He attended District # 98 Country School.  He served his country in the U.S. Army in the European Theater Campaign stationed in Rome & Naples, Italy during WWII from 1944 to 1946.

Cyril was united in marriage to Albina Scholz on April 27, 1949 at St. Luke Catholic Church in Loma, NE.  The couple lived on a farm for over 50 years.  He was a life-long farmer but also raised hogs, fed cattle, seed corn dealer, carpenter and mechanic.  Cyril was member of St. Vitus Catholic Church in Touhy, District #99 School Board Member, Saunders County Livestock Feeders association, life-time member of V.F.W. Post #10491 in Valparaiso, Past Commander, charter, 71 year member of the American Legion Post #308 in Weston. He was the last surviving founding charter member of the A.L. Post #308.  He was honored to participate in the honor flight to Washington D.C. in 2008.

He enjoyed Polka music, gardening, wood working, traveling & attending his WWII Army reunions, his family and attending his grandchildren’s activities.

Cyril is survived by his wife, Albina of 68 years; daughters and spouses, Margaret (William Brundies) McMullen of Glendale, AZ, Irene (Ed) Scheidt of Prescott, AZ, Bernice (Dave) Schiller of Prescott, AZ and Ruth Ann (Mike) Royse of Lincoln, NE; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Lilian Bohaty; brothers, Philip and James Kellner.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Lowell McMullen; infant great-grandson, David Zlomke, sisters-in-law, Nordene Kellner, Helen Kellner; infant sister, Marie; sisters and brothers-in-law, Anna & Lad Pacula, Mary Marie & Frank Bohaty, Albin Bohaty.
