In Care of the Family for Future Designation

David Pirl Frazier, 64, of Wahoo, formerly of Shelton, died suddenly on Saturday, July 26 at the Saunders Medical Center in Wahoo. David was born on May 30, 1950, in Kearney, to Lloyd and Mildred (Vogt) Frazier.

David leaves behind his loving wife, Connie; his daughter Angela McCorkle and son-in-law, Dean; his son, Christopher David Frazier, and daughter-in-law Brooke. David was the proud grandfather to four loving grandchildren: Madison McCorkle, Sydney McCorkle, Jack Frazier and Grace Frazier. Anyone who knew David knew that he was so very proud of his family.

David is also survived by his brothers Duane (Garnita) Frazier of Shelton, Doyle (Carolyn) Frazier of Stromsburg, sisters Doris Ripp and Dorothy (Louis) Valdez all of Gibbon, and a host of nieces and nephews.

David learned early the importance of family, as he was the youngest of five children. David graduated from Gibbon High School in 1968, the same year he married his high school sweetheart, Connie Erpelding.
They raised both of their children in Shelton, where they lived until 1993 when they relocated to Wahoo.

Early in his adult life, David worked for a local farmer before being employed at Klein Chevrolet in Shelton. Over the next 20 years he worked for Fairbanks International in Central Nebraska followed by 21 years of service at Virgl Implement in Wahoo.

David spent his entire life working close to home to make his community a better place for others. He was an active member of the Shelton Volunteer Fire Department, a member of the Shelton Jaycees, and served on the Village Board. He was also an active member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Wahoo.
David lived life to the fullest. Every day was a new adventure. His greatest pleasure, outside of his family, was riding his Cushman scooter as a member of the Nebraska Cushman Club. David and Connie enjoyed travel, bowling, history, sports, and time spent with neighbors and friends.

David is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and his in-laws Al and Maxine Erpelding.

I am sure there is not a soul who would disagree that David was just an all around great person. He was a deeply devoted man both to his family and his God, hard worker, kind to everyone, always involved in his community; he would never blink an eye to give a hand to someone who needed it. In the 47 yrs I’ve known him, I never heard him say a negative word about anyone. He will surely be missed by all.

Always a great belly laugh we could look forward to when seeing Dave at our Cushman meets. He was kind hearted and full of wisdom on how we should conduct business. At the meets, he and Connie would always leave on Saturday night so they could attend mass. Devoted to his God, his wife, his family and friends. This man knew his priorities. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

Connie and all of Dave’s family, I’m so sorry for Dave’s untimely passing, he was to young for this to happen. Connie it’s been years since I’ve seen you or Dave, but I have many fond memories of high school with you and Dave. He was always a happy guy, and from reading the other comments, he has stayed that happy guy. He will be missed by many. My heart goes out to you Connie, and may the Lord hold you close now and in the days ahead. In Sympathy, Susan

Dear Connie, Ah, so saddened to hear of Dave’s death. All too young. Memories of him are so positive and when I think of David, it makes me smile. He was such a “good guy” in Gibbon High School and your love for each other was so evident at that young age. What a joy and blessing for you to have had such a husband, father for your children and grandchildren. May the love, care and concern of family and friends be of great comfort. Kathy (Gibbons) Ganz

I don’t think I ever had seen Dave or Connie since graduation from GHS in 1968. I went to grade school with him; a great loss to all.
