In Care of the Family for Future Designation

Leonard C. Zimmerman, 95 of Wahoo, NE, entered into eternal rest on Monday, March 30, 2015 at South Haven Living Center in Wahoo. He was born March 25, 1920 in Wahoo to Emil and Amanda (Juds) Zimmerman. Leonard attended Wahoo High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII until he was honorably discharged. On June 10, 1946, Leonard was united in marriage to Betty Egr at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Plasi, NE. Leonard and Betty managed 300 Bowl in Wahoo for many years. Leonard owned and operated Zimmerman Oil for 40 years until his son, Rich, took over the family business in 1984.

Leonard was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid bowler and he enjoyed woodworking. He was a member of VFW Post #4502, where he ran bingo for many years. Leonard loved fishing, especially the trips he took to Canada.

He is survived by sons, Larry Zimmerman of Mukiteo, WA and Rich (Linda) Zimmerman of Wahoo; grandsons, Ben Zimmerman of Ames, IA and Joey Zimmerman of Lincoln; niece, Sandy Peters of Wahoo; beloved dog, Maxx.

He was preceded in death by wife, Betty Zimmerman; brother, Leroy Zimmerman; and sister, Mary Ann Peters.
