Rose E. (Hanus) Divis, 91 of Wahoo, NE, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, July 12, 2015 at her home in Wahoo. She was born June 12, 1924 in Brainard, NE to Louis and Emma (Chalupnik) Hanus.

She attended Holy Trinity Catholic School in Brainard for eight years where she sang in the grade school choir and Senior choir. Rose Graduated from Brainard Senior High School in May of 1942.

She went to Western Union telegraph school and worked as a tele-type operator for Western Union for four years. She also worked in the Money Order Department, Mail Bureau, and was manager of branch offices in Omaha.

Rose moved to David City in 1946 and was a J.C. Penney cashier for three years. Later, she was named Deputy County Assessor for about two years and she also did the County taxes for about 2 ½ years.

Rose met Ted Divis at a dance and married him in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in David City on October 13, 1952 and they moved to the farm north of Wahoo. She sang in the St. Wenceslaus Church Choir for about 55 years, she also enjoyed spiritual reading and held a holy hour in church for many years. Rose and Ted moved into town after retiring from farming in 1999.

Gardening on the farm, reading, writing poetry, crossword puzzles, and enjoying nature were some of her favorite things.

She is survived by daughters, Carol Divis of Wahoo and Connie (Steve) Tippery of Omaha; grandchild, Adam “A.J.” Tippery of Omaha; brother, Lad (Betty) Hanus of Omaha; many other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by husband, Ted Divis; brothers, Robert (Leona) Hanus, Alois Hanus, and Vladimir Hanus; sister, Eleanor (Melvin) Burrows.
