Janice Strizek, 49, of Ceresco, NE passed away peacefully on Friday, August 5, 2016 after a 19 month courageous battle with lung cancer. She was born July 22, 1967 in Lincoln, NE to Dennis and Irene (Polacek) Rezac. Janice graduated from Raymond Central High School in 1985 and in 1987 graduated from Southeast Community College with a degree in Child Development. On October 17, 1987, Janice was united in marriage to Darren Strizek and they made their home on a farm near Ceresco. Janice’s love of children led her to care for hundreds of infants during her 24 year career as a teacher at Bryan Health Child Development Center.
Janice is survived by her husband of 28 years Darren Strizek; sons: Reed Strizek of Lincoln and Kale Strizek of Ceresco; mother Irene Rezac and step-father Ron Epp of Lincoln; brothers: Allan (Shery) Rezac of Raymond, Mark (Elizabeth) Rezac of Ceresco; sister Sharon (Todd) Munford of Raymond; mother-in-law Delores Strizek of Valparaiso; sister-in-law Myra (Tim) Rahmann of Gibbon; brother-in-law Mark (Pam) Strizek of Valparaiso; many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
She was preceded in death by father Dennis Rezac; father-in-law Marvin Strizek; niece Brenda Strizek, and grandparents.
