He continued to work for BNSF until his retirement of 39 years in January 2016. Steve was such a wonderful friend when I lived in Nebraska. He, Ron and I had so many laughs over the years. I will always remember those times and laugh.
I want to let you know that if Ron were still alive he would join with me in giving you all our deepest sympathy.
May you always remember Steve’s beautiful smile and laugh. He so loved all of you.

Dan I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your brother. My thoughts and condolences to you and your family.
I see no classmates of Steve wrote in, so on behalf of everyone that went to school in the 60’s & 70’s (St. Wenceslaus & B. Neumann), I will. Lots I could say but see the classic movie @ friends growing-up titled ‘Stand By Me’. The quote: “I never again had any friends like those I had when I was 12. Jesus, does anybody?” Pretty much sums it up. Last I saw Steve was at my Wahoo best friends funeral in Jan. 1992, John Cajka (Steve’s cousin). We chatted briefly & he wanted to ‘party’ but I was all work & no play in those days. I hope he found the peace in death that he sought in life – as we all do. RIP Steve.
