Marilyn Darlene Klinzman, age 73, died on June 4, 2018 surrounded by her husband Louis and two children, Liesl and Etienne. Marilyn was born on March 22, 1945 in Holdrege, Nebraska, the daughter of Lee and Edith Copeland.
Marilyn’s family eventually settled in Waterloo, Nebraska where she spent most of her childhood years and graduated from Waterloo High School in 1962.
Marilyn continued her education at Wayne State College receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Education in 1966. She started her teaching career in 1967 at North Ward Elementary school in Wahoo, Nebraska. Marilyn taught Third Grade for 37 years.
While teaching, Marilyn met the love of her life, Louis LeRoy Klinzman, an elementary school music teacher, and they were married December 29, 1968.
They have two children, Liesl and Etienne. The family took many summer vacations, visiting most of the 50 States. After they both retired from teaching, they enjoyed traveling to many different countries including Ireland, Scotland, Germany, France, Italy, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Holland, Belgium, Australia and New Zealand.
Marilyn loved to read and was a beautiful quilter. She was a Member of the Wahoo Bethlehem Lutheran Church and enjoyed being a member of the Bethlehem Quilters and Bethlehem WELCA.
Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Edith Copeland. She is survived by husband of 49 years, Louis L. Klinzman; daughter, Liesl C. (Jeffrey) Klinzman-Corbett; son, Etienne L. (Melissa) Klinzman; four grandchildren, Copeland Corbett, Minor Corbett, Ryan Klinzman and Kinley Klinzman; sister, Sheila (Andrew) Harner; brother, Merlin (Shirley) Copeland; nephew and niece and many cousins and friends.

My sincere condolences to Louis and family. There isn’t really a time I don’t remember the Klinzmans being around either in school, church and for over 45 years as our neighbors. Marilyn was my 3rd grade teacher and I have several fond and funny memories. She lived life to it’s fullest and was blessed by the love of a great husband, cherished children and grandchildren. I pray for peace for you all.
Many fond memories of Marilyn. She will be missed by many. My sincerest sympathy to all.

Marilyn,s brother and sister and my sister,Maria and I were cousins. We played together at family picnics. Marilyn will be missed a lot by all.
Oh Liesl, Dick and I were so saddened to hear of your mom’s passing. She was such a sweet lady and we so enjoyed visiting with her. You and your family are in our prayers as we know how devastating this loss is. Please remember that your mom is at peace and will join you again in Heaven.
Mr. Klinzman and family I am sadden to hear the loss of Mrs. Klinzman. I loved having her as my 3rd grade teacher. She will really be missed. She touched so many lives as well as taught so many of us.
So sorry to here this news Marilyn was my third grade teacher, she was Miss Copeland back then. I grew up and had the great pleasure to work with her and Louis at the elementary school for many years. I have so many great memories, she will be greatly missed. My thoughts are with her family during this difficult time.

Louie, Lee and I have just returned from Calvin’s, and are saddened to hear that Marilyn passed away. She was a great lady!
