Ronald “Ron” Dean Treptow, 76, of Lincoln, NE, passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at The Monarch in Lincoln, NE.  He was born on January 15, 1945 to Ralph and Lorene (Smith) Treptow.  Ron grew up on a farm and attended Ithaca grade school and then to Wahoo High School where he was outstanding in both football and track.  After graduating Wahoo High School in 1963 he attended Northeast Community College.  Ron married Sherry Rupp and their union brought a son Robert and daughter Ronda.

Ron lived in the Ithaca area for years raising cattle, farming, buying for Tama Packing House and he even owned a few racehorses that ran in Nebraska and Chicago.  In his later years, Ron worked for Yale Security.

Ron married Linda (Woidneck) Vacha on July 10, 1987, giving them 34 wonderful years of marriage.  Ron will always be remembered for his humor and crazy antics as well as his devotion to recycling.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Lorene Treptow; step-grandson, Joshua Cochran.

He is survived by wife, Linda Treptow; children, Robert (Julie) Treptow of Lincoln and Ronda (Thomas) Duden of Lincoln; step-children, Michelle (Corey) Truax of Colorado Springs, CO, Kristi Cochran of Lincoln and Scott Vacha of Fremont; grandchildren, Ashley Patocka-Moore, Joshua Gossard and Jordan Moore; step-grandchildren, Tyler Truax, Ryan Truax, Colby Cochran and Jacob Vacha; great-grandchildren, Hayden Gossard, Brylee Cochran, Carter Truax and Gage Stegemann; many other family members and longtime friends.

A special thanks to our caring neighbors, Asera Care Hospice, Home Care Assistance and The Monarch for the loving care given to Ron.

    I am so very sorry to hear of Ron’s passing. I have many fond memories of him as a brother-in-law. Condolences to the family.

    I have many fond memories of Ron when we worked together at the golds building. He sure loved his pastries.so very sorry for your loss.
