Larry D. Woita, 82, of Wahoo, NE, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at South Haven Living Center in Wahoo, NE. He was born January 7, 1942 in Prague, NE to Adolph and Celestine (Tomek) Woita. Larry attended grade school in Bruno, NE, then a country school just outside of Bruno, and one year at Holy Trinity Catholic School in Brainard, NE. He graduated from Brainard High School in 1960 and then attended the Lincoln School of Business. While attending school, Larry worked for Stava Manufacturing and he worked for a road paving company. Following college, he started farming in the Valparaiso, NE area and continued until he retired.
On February 16, 1963, Larry was united in marriage to Rose Dvorak at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Brainard, NE.
Larry was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, past member of St. Vitus Catholic Church in Touhy, NE for over 50 years and the Knights of Columbus. He served on the Newman Township Board for more than 30 years and on the Weston Rural Fire Board. Larry was a man of great faith and he was a hard worker.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Rose Woita; daughters, Angie (Brad) Nelson of Valparaiso, NE, Valerie Rouch of Lincoln, NE, Tracey (Bob) Johnson of Wahoo, NE and Jessie (Matt) Forrest of Omaha, NE; grandchildren, Kurtis Prochaska (fiancé, Patty Martinez and daughter, Sarah Martinez), Caden Johnson, Jillian Johnson, Abby Rouch, Graham Forrest and Elyse Forrest; step-grandchildren, Brandon (special friend, Belinda Trout) Nelson, Ben (Amber) Nelson; 3 step-great grandchildren, brothers, Carl Woita and Jim (Susan) Woita; many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph and Celestine Woita; brother, Nick Woita; sister-in-law Peg Woita; nephew, Matthew Woita.
My condolences to Rose and family. Larry was a very special cousin and I always enjoyed his company I will always remember the kind and heartfelt note he sent me after reading my biography.
Our heartfelt condolences to dear Rose and family. Larry was one of Glen’s favorite cousins, he appreciated his quick wit, great smile and firm handshake.
Yes, your dad and mom brought you girls up to be some of the finest young women that I ever knew and taught.
