Alyce M. Andersen, 85 of Mead, NE, entered into rest on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Saunders Medical Center in Wahoo.  She was born July 20, 1928 in Albion, NE to Roger and Mabel (Cook) Stoakes.  Alyce attended elementary in Albion and then high school in Mead.  On March 23, 1946, she was married to Donald Dean Andersen in Wahoo.  She spent over 15 years working for Campbell Soup Co. and then she worked for Mead Public Schools as a cook for over 30 years until her retirement. 

Alyce loved to have people over for coffee and she enjoyed playing cards.  She loved visiting with friends.  Her favorite hobby was reading and she also loved to play Bingo.  She was a member of Mead Evangelical Church and the Birthday Club.

She is survived by children, Linda (Kent) Sweet of Mead, Sherri (Cecil) Roberts of Rising City, Gerri Andersen of Omaha, Donna (Tim) Lane of McPherson, KS, Susan (Jim) Sake of Valley, Alyson (David) Linquist of Lake Mills, IA; 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 5 great great-grandchildren; brothers, Earl (Sally) Stoakes and Norman (Sharon) Stoakes; sisters, Gerri Stoakes, Micky Vrba, and Karol Osterloh; sister-in-law, Verla Stoakes; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Preceded in death by husband, Donald Andersen; son, David Andersen; 6 brothers and one sister. 

Pastor John Schnell will be officiating.

    Linda and Kent and the rest of your families,
    We are traveling, but do feel the loss of your mother. Lee recently lost his mom, so we can share your loss. Thinking of you.
