Arlyn “Hank” D. Hankes, 79, of Mead, NE, died Friday, July 27, 2018 at Bergan Mercy Medical Center in Omaha, NE. He was born March 21, 1939 in Belmond, IA to Charles and Muriel (Gartz) Hankes.
He is survived by step-daughter, Penny Hatchell; step-son, Mark Hatchell; grandson, Luke (Jessica) Hatchell; brothers, Denny (Linda) Hankes, David (Margaret) Hankes; sister, Karen (Arthur) Simpson; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Connie Hankes; parents, Charles and Muriel Hankes.
Sorry to hear about Arlyn. We spent a lot of time together driving around town in his big old Pontiac. What a kick it was.

We met Hank back in maybe 1965 or so did some hunting dancing and visiting over the years. Havn’t seen him for a while but always enjoyed the times we had together. Sorry to hear of this but we will always have fond memories of him. Kork and Gloria Bullock
Arlyn only spent his senior year of High School in Charles City, Iowa. He graduated with the CCHS1957 Class. I remember him as a true gentleman. Everyone in our class would agree with me. RIP Hank. Our Condolences to Arlyn’s family.
