Bernadette M. Hladik, 71, of Raceland, LA entered into eternal rest Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at her home. She was born May 20, 1952 to Charles and Emma Hladik in Wahoo, NE. She graduated from Raymond Central High School in 1971. She was united in marriage to Richard Harrod on April 10, 1992 and moved to Louisiana shortly after.
Bernadette worked in retail as a salesperson and was an accomplished seamstress.
Bernadette is survived by her daughter, Rickie Harrod; stepdaughters, Eileen Harrod, Deanna Harrod; brother, Charles (Doris) Hladik; sisters, Rosalie Seemann, Vivian (Gary) Sexton and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Harrod; parents, Charles and Emma Hladik; brother-in-law, Ken Seemann, nephew, Chris Hladik and great-nephew, Wyatt Pytlik.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. I am the Branch Manager of the Raceland Library in Raceland La. Mrs. Bernadette was a frequent visitor. On this morning, I decided to search her name as I had not seen her in a while. I am so heart broken to see that my dear library friend has transitioned. May she rest peacefully in Paradise.
