Bernard Franta, 90, of Wahoo passed away August 7, 2015 at the Saunders Care Center in Wahoo, NE.
Bernard was born on February 6, 1925 in Morse Bluff to Joseph and Agnes (Mach) Franta. Growing up he attended District 77 grade school. On March 1, 1986 he was united in marriage to Evelyn Knutzen in Wahoo. During his life Bernard worked for various farmers as a hired hand. He later joined Region V in Wahoo and worked for Pizza Hut helping make boxes and clean tables.
Bernard loved listening and dancing to Polka, particularly Big Joe’s Polka Show; attending fish fries in Prague; visiting, smoking, and drinking coffee with friends at Sunmart; and even knew how to speak Czech. He was known for being affectionate, thoughtful, easy going, hardworking, and having a sharp memory.
He was survived by his sister, Bernice Vavak of San Diego, CA; brother, Eugene Franta of Joplin, MO; and many Region V family members.
He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.
