Betty Ann (Osmera) Tvrdy 83, of Ceresco NE, entered into eternal life on Friday, May 3, 2024, at Bickford of Lincoln. She was born on July 16, 1941 to Anton B. and Agnes (Jambor) Osmera on a farmstead near Weston, NE. She attended grade school in Touhy, NE and graduated from Valparaiso High School in 1958. On September 12, 1959, Betty Ann was united in marriage to Arnold Tvrdy at St. Vitus Catholic Church in Touhy, NE.

Betty Ann was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. She was an excellent truck driver and dedicated farmwife; it broke her heart when she had to leave the farm. She was active in the Catholic Cursillo Movement and PCCW. She was a past member of the Red Hats Club and charter member of the Farmerette’s extension Club. Betty Ann and Arnold enjoyed square dancing, polka music, playing cards and traveling to casinos. Keeping her large farm yard mowed and trimmed and the cutting thistles out of the pasture was an enjoyable challenge. Betty Ann worked for Robert Lookabaugh, optometrist and entrepreneur, of Ceresco where she discovered her love for computers. She spent time tending the garden and taking walks to the pond.

She is survived by her two sons: Larry Tvrdy and Charlie Tvrdy of Ceresco; five grandchildren: Hannah (Floyd) Crouse, Dylan Tvrdy, Colton Tvrdy, Bailey Tvrdy, and Christopher (Dom) Abbott; 11 great-grandchildren: Aiden, Kaedence, Isaiah and Alora Crouse and Finnley Tvrdy, and Everett Tvrdy and Sophia, Natalie, Gabriel Abbott, Lukas and Caleb Abbott. Sisters and brothers, Marie (Eugene) Maly of Weston, Anthony (Mary Ann) Osmera, and Ernie (Joan) Osmera of Weston, Harriet Jakub of David City. Sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Elizabeth Osmera of Scottsdale, AZ; Teresa (Les) Policky of Acworth, GA; Jim (Tammy) Tvrdy, and Monica Tvrdy of Valparaiso; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Arnold Tvrdy; daughter, Lori Tvrdy; parents, Anton B. and Agnes Osmera and brother, Richard Osmera; brothers-in-law, Rudy Jakub, and Edwin Tvrdy, and sister-in-law, Rose (Richard) Hottovy.
