In Memory of Chad Michael Simon (March 4, 1973 – February 3, 2024)

Chad Michael Simon, beloved father, cherished friend, and master of the grill, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

Chad was born on March 4, 1973, to Bunnie McGee. He was raised in Ithaca, NE, where he would later become a pillar of the community. His greatest joy in life was his children, whom he adored with all his heart. He was the loving father of Tyler (Kerrii) Gibson, Taylor (Curtis) Hartshorn, Cassidy Simon, Jayden Haag (Mitchell), J.T. Haag, Trey Simon, and Chase Simon. Chad’s devotion to his children was unmatched, and his love for them knew no bounds. He was their biggest supporter, strongest advocate, and their unwavering source of love and guidance.

He is survived by the love of his life Janelle, his mother, Bunnie McGee, his children, brothers, Jay (Katie) McGee, Josh (Jenny) McGee, and Shawn (Kara) McGee, Darlene Coyle, Pat Coyle, Mike (Misty) Coyle and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gerry and Phyllis Simon and Rachel Simon.

Outside of his role as a father, Chad enjoyed the simple things in life. He found immense joy in playing cards with his friends, engaging in a little friendly sports betting (even if it was all in good fun), and spending time with loved ones around the grill. Chad was a diehard Michigan Wolverines fan. Whether he was grilling up a feast for family gatherings or sharing his latest culinary creations with friends, Chad’s love for cooking brought people together in the most delicious way possible.

Chad will be remembered for his infectious laughter, his generous spirit, and his unwavering love for his family and friends. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched, and his memory will continue to bring comfort and joy to all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Chad’s spirit will forever live on in the laughter of his children, the warmth of the memories shared, and the love that surrounds us all.

Rest in peace, dear Chad. You will be deeply missed and eternally loved.
