In Care of the Family

Donald F. Kresl, 88 of Weston, NE, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at South Haven Living Center in Wahoo. He was born July 26, 1927 in Omaha, NE to Frank and Martha (Kastl) Kresl. Don attended East Butler High School. On April 16, 1955, he was united in marriage to Barbara Platt at St. Mary Catholic Church in Omaha. Don was a member of St. Vitus Catholic Church in Touhy.

Don was a farmer all of his life and he was also a dirt contractor that built damns, terraces, and waterways. In his early years, Don would weld and drive truck when he was not farming. He was a member of the Land Improvement Contractors Association. Don was very handy and he could fix anything. He had a knack for making things work, regardless of the problem. He was a very tough man that had an appreciation for Caterpillar tractors. His family was number one in his life, especially his wife Barbara.

He is survived by wife of 60 years, Barbara Kresl; children, Donald H. Kresl of Weston, Jodi (Ross) Devick of Center Point, IA, Michelle Kresl of Mitchellville, IA, Sharon (Dean) Belding of Blue Springs, NE, and Barbara (Charlie) Johnston of Belvider, IL; grandson, Daniel Johnston; brother, Gene Kresl of Marshalltown, IA; many nieces and nephews and a cousin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Martha Kresl and brother, Jerry Kresl.
