Douglas L. Miller, 69 of Wahoo, NE passed away Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Saunders Medical Long Term Care Center. He was born December 4, 1953 in Des Moines, Iowa. Doug lived in Beatrice, NE before moving to Wahoo in 1977. He was employed with Region V Services, where he was involved in the recycling program and did community cleaning of various buildings in Wahoo.
Doug liked to travel and took many trips throughout his life. He loved the holidays, especially Christmas and it was a bonus if he saw Santa Claus.
He enjoyed riding horses, cheering on the Huskers, and socializing with all his friends. He was a faithful and devoted member of First Presbyterian Church.
Doug is survived by his extended family, Diane Tillman; Molly Tillman and Sylas; Mikki and Brent Lund, Ivy, Essie and Walter; Mackenzie and Jarod Champoux; Adele Jackson, Linda and Doug Bordovsky, Mikayla and Seth Smart and family, Chris and Jen Bordovsky and family, Paul and Kaitie Bordovsky and family, Katie Bleeker and Chris and family; loving care givers, Ralph and Laurie Woita and family, Mary Werner and family, Bonnie Schreiber and family and a host of many great friends throughout the community,
I loved this little man! Always smiling and that fabulous laugh! Heaven gains another angel! Karen
I loved to be around Doug. We watched a lot of NU Woman’s basketball games together. He was polite and always a happy and joyful man. God speed Doug. God has a special place in heaven for you.
Doug was one of my absolute favorite riders I taught at HETRA. The competitiveness, the joy, and his true joy in riding will never be forgotten. I recall his first ride at Hetra and the true enjoyment of that day. A whole new world opened up for him.
Doug, in all the years I knew you ( and that was many) you always had a smile on your face and a welcoming hug! I have many memories of all the good times we had with all your friends throughout the years. You will be greatly missed here but I know Jone was waiting for you with open arms.
Deepest sympathies to all of Doug’s extended family and friends.
He had a smile and laugh which could light up a room and although his speech was sometimes difficult to understand, his smile and laugh were “universal” – that is how I will always remember him.
