Eleanor A. Bartek, 87 of Wahoo, NE, entered into eternal rest surrounded by her family on August 11, 2015 at the Saunders Care Center in Wahoo. She was born December 5, 1927 to Henry and Josie (Meduna) Bartek on a farm in rural Weston, the older of two daughters.

She attended rural school District #74 for eight years which was on the boundary of the family farm, and was affiliated with St. Vitus Catholic Church in Touhy. With the family moving to Wahoo in 1944, she attended Wahoo High School graduating with the class of 1948.

As a member of St. Wenceslaus Church, she was active in the St. Ludmilla’s Guild and Rosary Society. She worked at the Wahoo Bakery for over 30 years and she also resided at home to help tend to the needs of her parents for many years. Upon retirement she continued to enjoy ceramics, growing flowers, playing Bingo, leading the Rosary at care centers, and other volunteer work. She cherished friends and pets because her immediate family lived farther away. Due to health reasons, she left her home in 2006 to reside at the Saunders House and most recently at Saunders Care Center.

She is survived by her sister, Sophie Flaska of Friend; nieces, Ronita (Rick) Dewey of Crete, Melanie (Doug) Papik of Exeter, Starlene (Mark) Benorden of Exeter, and Leannette Flaska of Friend; nephew, Rick Flaska of Friend and their extended families; numerous cousins, especially Adrian and Mary Alice Bartek of Wahoo; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Henry in 1983 and Josie in 1995; brother-in-law Richard in 2006.
