Fannie L. Marshalek, 81 of Raymond, NE, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at her home in rural Raymond, NE. She was born August 12, 1932 in Kilbourne, LA to Edgar and Emma (Rutherford) Hodgkins. Fannie grew-up and graduated from high school in Louisiana and then moved to Nebraska in 1955. On October 17, 1958, Fannie was united in marriage to John Marshalek at St. Mary Catholic Church in Lincoln, NE. For over 20 years, she worked as a cook for Raymond Central High School until her retirement.
She was a member of Ss. Mary and Joseph Catholic Church in Valparaiso, NE where she was active in the PCCW. She was also a member of the American Legion #371 Auxiliary. Bingo was her favorite hobby and she loved to cook for her family.
She is survived by husband, John Marshalek of Raymond; children, Tom Marshalek of Ceresco, Glenn Marshalek of Raymond, Gordon (Cindy) Marshalek of Raymond, Suzanne (Matthew) Carter of West Orange, NJ; 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; brothers, Victor Hodgkins and Gene Hodgkins.
Preceded in death by daughter, Jane Marshalek; grandson, Nicholas Marshalek; sisters, Anne Pearson and Mae Pearce; brothers, Charlie Hodgkins, Clarence Hodgkins, Harold Hodgkins, Alec Hodgkins and Edgar Hodgkins.
Hey Tom, Gordon, Glenn n Suzanne sorry about the loss of your Mother. She was a great lady, always remember her in the food line at Central, she always have me extra!! Thanks Fannie!!
So sorry to here about Fannie. She was always one of my favorite Raymond Central people. Wonderful lady who raised great kids. RIP Fannie! God must have need a great cook in heaven. Her cinnamon rolls were the best! Corky Forbes
