Gary Lee Moore, 71 of Ceresco, NE, died peacefully, Thursday, February 12, 2015 at his home in rural Ceresco. He was born January 27, 1944 in Tampa, FL to Russell and Helen (Root) Moore. Gary graduated from Lincoln High School in 1963. On June 23, 1967, he was united in marriage to Esther Newman in Lincoln. Gary, “The Renaissance Man”, worked in the maintenance department at UNL until his retirement in 2010.

Gary was known to be able to build or fix anything, whether at work or home. His passion was his Live Steam Trains. He was a member of the Camp Creek Railroaders in Waverly since 1986.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Esther Moore; daughter, Leann (David) Wiese of Raymond; grandchildren, Brandon, Collin, Brian, and Colten; brother, Roger (Dianne) Moore of Denton, NE; sister, Paula Herring of Staplehurst, NE; one niece and five nephews.

Preceded in death by parents, Russell and Helen Moore; brother-in-law, John Herring.

Pastor Kris Bohac will be officiating the service.

    Dear friend you are truly missed by all who have had the privilege of being a part of your life. You were a great friend and we all appreciate everything that you have done for us and many others, Now you can give train rides to all the little ones in heaven and enjoy the ride.
