Harold William Eric Otto, 87, of Memphis NE, “Bought the Farm” peacefully on Friday, February 14th, 2014 at South Haven Living Center in Wahoo, NE. Harold was born June 5th, 1926 in Ceresco, NE to Bill and Lizzie (Juds) Otto. He attended District 16 country school. Harold joined the U.S. Marines and served his country in WWII until he was honorably discharged in 1946. Harold met the love of his life, Darlene Mae Anderson, and they were married on September 15th, 1946 in Wahoo, NE. Harold was by all definitions a Cowboy and managed feed lots for many years in Saunders County, including Indian Creek Cattle Co for 15 years until his retirement.
Harold was a member of the Ashland VFW Post #9776. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. Hunting big and small game was a hobby of his and his dream came true in Alaska when he was able to hunt his brown bear. Harold was a great wood crafter and an amazing dancer. He enjoyed whiskey and his warm beer. He was excellent at riding bulls and horses in rodeos and camping with his family was something he cherished. Harold enjoyed the simple things in life and was loved by so many.
