In care of the family for future designation
Helen Marie Swartz, 84, of Wahoo, NE, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Bryan West Medical Center in Lincoln, NE. She was born August 3, 1939 in Omaha, NE to Willy and Alvina (Petersen) Wischmann. Helen graduated from Ashland High School in 1956. On December 31, 1960, Helen was united in marriage to Dennis D. Swartz at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Colon, NE.
Helen worked in a law office in Wahoo until she was married. Once her children were in high school, she started working for the County Court and then moved to the District Court. She retired from the District Court in 2006 after a 25-year career.
Helen was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, PCCW and the St. Ludmilla’s Guild. She was a very organized person who loved cooking and baking. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, crafting and she especially loved her family.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Dennis Swartz; children, Kathy Hagaman of Wahoo, NE, Karen (Loran) Houska of Wahoo, NE and Steven (Kathleen) Swartz of Springfield, NE; grandchildren, Jamie (Chad) Ditter, Joshua Hagaman, Megan Houska, Gavin Swartz and Kaitlyn Swartz; great-grandchildren, Jarret Nystrom, Alex Ditter and Jaxson Ditter; brothers, Robert Wischmann, George (Karen) Wischmann and Paul (Dian) Wischmann; sister, Leona Alvarado; many other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willy and Alvina Wischmann; brother, Don Wischmann.
My heartfelt condolences to the family.
