James “Jim” L. Edins, 79 of Mead, NE entered into eternal rest on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at Nye Legacy in Fremont, NE.  He was born September 29, 1943 in Omaha, NE to James S. and Cecilia E. (Kuncl) Edins.  He graduated from St. Joseph Academy in 1961 and attended Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene. TX.  Jim was united in marriage to Bonnie Reifschneider on December 30, 1965 in Scottsbluff, NE.  Two children were born from this union, Lisa and Brian.   He joined the U.S National Guard in 1964 and was honorably discharged in 1970.

Jim worked at the Hormel Corporation in Fremont for 33 years.   He was a member of St. James Catholic Church, American Legion #82 and Yutan Veteran’s Country Club where he served as an officer and as a board member.  He enjoyed fishing, gardening, Husker football and Corvettes.

Jim is survived by his wife of 56 years, Bonnie Edins; daughter, Lisa Edins-Huser and husband Bernie; son, Brian Edins and wife Kerri; grandchildren, Jake, Kallie and Kennedy Edins; brother, Edward Edins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Cecelia Edins and brother Stewart Edins.
