Jerry D. Wade Sr., 81 of Wahoo, NE entered into eternal rest peacefully on Thursday, February 9, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 3, 1941 in Mountain Grove, MO to Delmar and Bernice (Barton) Wade.

Jerry graduated high school from Plato, MO in 1959. He went to work as a mechanic for Crown Maintenance at Fort Leonard Wood after high school and was transferred to the missile base in Mead, NE in 1960.

He met his wife, Twila Novak, while working in Mead and they were married on July 6, 1961 and were blessed with 61 years together. Throughout his time working for Crown Maintenance, Jerry worked in West Virginia, Virginia and Florida.

Jerry and Twila moved back to Nebraska in 1966 and raised their four children on a farm outside of Malmo. Jerry was a volunteer fireman for the Malmo Fire Department for 30 years. He worked for Barry Farms in Malmo, Kingery Construction in Lincoln, and Dan the Closeout Man in Prague until his retirement. After retirement, Jerry and Twila moved to Wahoo, NE.

Jerry especially enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed taking trips with the family and playing cards with anyone who would sit down and deal.

Jerry is survived by his wife Twila, children –  Yvonne (Mike) Schaefer, John (Debi) Wade, Jerry (Marlene) Wade, Deanne (Jerry) Rasmussen all of Prague, grandchildren – Tony (Kristie) Voboril, Josh (Allison) Wade, Shelby Wade, Chelsea Strauss, Hannah Schaefer, Austin (Alyssa) Wade, Colin Wade, Logan Wade, Zack Strauss and Breauna Rasmussen, step-grandsons – James (Amber), Cory (Ashlynn), and Justin Rasmussen, great-grandchildren – Lorelei Voboril, Jacob & Cody Wade, step-great-grandchildren – Carson, Emma, Maverick, Rucker, Stella, Rosalie, and Hyacinth Rasmussen, sisters – Lola (Don) Massey of Lynchburg, MO, Connie Lubina and Teresa (Danny) Clark of Lebanon, MO, sister-in-law – Karen Pokorski of Wahoo, brothers-in-law – Danny (Shelly) Novak and David (Lauri) Novak of Lincoln, many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers-in-law – Pete Lubina & Jim Pokorski & sister-in-law – Charlene Smith.

    TWILA SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT JERRY. HE WILL NOT BE HURTING ANYMORE AND BE ABLE TO PLAY CARDS AS MUCH AS HE WANT, MAYBE EVEN START COLLECTING AGAIN. WILL BE PRAYING FOR YOU AND THE KIDS.
