Jill Johnson, 66 of Wahoo, NE, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at South Haven Living Center in Wahoo. She was born March 28, 1949 in Lebanon, KS to William and Margaret (Leonard) Boatright. Jill graduated from Gibbon High School in 1967 and Kennedy College in 1971. On June 19, 1970, she was united in marriage to Paul Johnson at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shelton, NE. Jill has spent the past 30+ years teaching 7th and 8th grade English at St. Wenceslaus and Bishop Neumann Schools.
Jill not only worked at Bishop Neumann, but the people of St. Wenceslaus and Bishop Neumann were her extended family. She loved her Junior High kids and she was a mother figure at Neumann. Every day she encouraged her kids to read and she was an avid reader herself. Jill was a Junior High Lead Teacher and a Co-Moderator of the National Honor Society.
Family was a very important part of Jill’s life. She was a proud mother and she loved her grandchildren. She always enjoyed playing cards, traveling with her husband Paul, and going to the movies. Jill was also a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, the St. Wenceslaus PCCW, and the FFI (Foolish Female Investors) Club.
She is survived by husband of 45 years, Paul Johnson; children, Adam (Carrie) Johnson of Wahoo, Bil (Brandi) Johnson of Wahoo, and Beth (Jon-Erik) Divis of Wahoo; grandchildren, Kenna and Avery Johnson, Jack and Sam Johnson, Oscar and Flynn Divis; sister, Jamie (Phil) Maddern of Oklahoma City, OK; brother, David Boatright of Colorado Springs, CO.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandson, Alex Divis.
Rest in Peace, Grandma Johnson. We know Alex was there to greet you at Heaven’s Gate. Praying for everyone you are watching over now.
Our prayers and deepest sympathy are with you at this time of great loss.
Mrs. Johnson will be remembered by many as such a loving, caring, giving person. (teacher, mother & wife)
She is going to be missed at Neumann and by people in this community.
God bless you,
Loran, Karen & Megan Houska

Our deepest sympathy to Paul and your family. She will live forever in our hearts. She was a joy and loved by all my children who were fortunate to have her as a teacher. What she taught a lot of times was not in the text books, but were life lessons that my children will never forget. God Bless her with a special place in heaven.

May you care for one another in this difficult time and know that Jill is now reaping the reward of a wonderful life, a faith-filled life. Sr. Margaret Hickey, ND
My heart goes out to all of you. Jill was a sweetheart. We met at the Presbyterian Church before you got married. I always admired her gentle ways and kind heart. We had great fun in Mother’s Club.
Love connects hearts forever.
So very sorry for Jill’s untimely passing…seems like we were at JFK, then I blinked, and now she is gone. Paul, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
I just heard the news. I just wanted to say that Mrs. Johnson is the reason for many things in my life. Mainly, she is the reason that I decided to become an English teacher. She saw me through those tough adolescent times, and always encouraged me to find my own voice. Her patience in the classroom is nothing short of godly, and her passion for English was always evident. She taught us how to have fun, how to use prepositions, how to trust ourselves, and how to be kind to all. Thank you for everything, Mrs. Johnson.
I am so saddened to hear about you loss, Mr. Johnson. Mrs. Johnson was a great teacher and a woman filled with love, peace and God’s grace. I have been praying for you and your entire family. I hope your happy memories are greater than your sadness. And that God will sustain you until you are reunited in heaven.
