Chief Raiter and I attended US Navy bootcamp together at Great Lakes in the dead of winter. We drilled together at the Naval Reserve Center in Lincoln and both retired from there. Our friendship continued through membership in the Fleet Reserve Association and The American Legion. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
