Julius J. Tvrdy was born Oct. 14, 1913 on his family’s farm west of Swedeburg, NE to Thomas and Magdalene (Bouc) Tvrdy. After finishing elementary school at District 32 School, he graduated from Weston High School in 1931. He worked as a farmer for his father for several years. On May 26, 1942, he was married to Isabelle Maly at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Church in Plasi. Julius was a lifelong farmer and livestock producer. He also worked for the ASCS for several years. After living on his farm all his life, he and Isabelle moved to Wahoo in 2008. Julius passed away June 1, 2014 at South Haven Living Center in Wahoo. Julius had been a parishoner at St. John Nepomucene Church where he belonged to the Mens Club. Since 2008, he had attended St. Wenceslaus Church in Wahoo. He was also a member of Catholic Workman.

Julius was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved his church and attending Bishop Neumann sports activities. He followed politics closely and even voted in the last presidential election. He was a hard worker and enjoyed working in his garden and mowing the grass. He always liked watching the Lawrence Welk Show.

Julius isĀ  survived by wife Isabelle; children and spouses Kathy (Jerry) Buresh, Dan (Donna) Tvrdy, Eileen (Don) Babka, Rev. Julius Tvrdy, Ralph (Dana) Tvrdy, Mike (Brenda) Tvrdy, JoAnn (Mike) Hall, Mark (Mary) Tvrdy, Lori (Dave) Pellan; 24 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 8 brothers, 3 sisters and an infant brother.

Fr. Julius Tvrdy will be officiating.
