Memorials – in lieu of flowers

In lieu of flowers and delivering food, the family is setting up a memorial fund at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Funds will be used to purchase bibles for future confirmands.

Karen R. Kennedy, 83, of Wahoo, NE, entered into rest on Sunday, May 14, 2023 at the Saunders Medical Center LTC in Wahoo, NE.  She was born September 18, 1939 in Norfolk, NE to Clarence Elmer and Theda Katherina Rosa (Mintken) Hoffman.  Karen graduated from Norfolk High School in Norfolk, NE where she was a majorette.

Karen was a dedicated Avon sales representative and an ambassador for the Wahoo Chamber of Commerce.  She was always out in the community whether she was helping at the local nursing homes or using her gift of bringing people together.  Karen was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

She is survived by children, Connie (Bill) Tracewell of Pottstown, PA, Tom (Barbara) Kennedy of Highland Village, TX and Robert (Donna) Kennedy of East Meredith, NY; grandchildren, Mason and Hayley Tracewell, Collin (Carley) Kennedy, Katherine (Connor) Jackson and Finton Kennedy; niece, Stacia (Bob) Keller; many other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Kennedy; parents, Clarence and Theda Hoffman.

Karen’s family would like to thank the community for allowing her to live the most independent life that she could.

    I am so saddened to hear this. Karen has always been special to me, and recently reconnected on Facebook. Such a beautiful soul.
