LaVerne F. Wonka passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 21st, 2015. She was born on October 15th, 1940 to John and Cecilia (Bartek) Leitgeb in Wahoo, NE. LaVerne married George Wonka on August 31st, 1957 at St. John’s church in Weston, NE.
LaVerne is survived by her husband George Wonka and children Gregory & Beth Wonka, Katherine & Timothy Vasa, and Barbara Wonka-Vasa. Grandchildren John, Alexandria, and Max Wonka, Adam & Amber Janecek, T.W. & Jen Vasa, Samantha & Clint Vandenberg, Paul Vasa, Chris & Rayna Vasa, Betsey & Cassidy Zwiebel, and Ben Vasa. Great-grandchildren Paxton, Tucker, and Carter Janecek, Vincent and Spencer Vandenberg, and Harper Vasa. She is also survived by her sisters Dottie Hraban, Betty Jurgens, and Annabelle Vermeline.
LaVerne is preceded in death by her parents John & Cecilia Leitgeb, her sister Patricia Jasa, and her in-laws John & Alice Wonka.
