Leon Milo Mika, 88 of Wahoo, NE passed away Friday, February 9, 2024 at his home.  He was born June 10, 1935 in Friend, NE to Emil and Louise (Brydl) Mika.  He graduated from Farragut High School in Iowa.  Leon served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1953 to 1957 during the Korean War.   He was united in marriage to Rebecca Carpenter on October 16, 1959 in Dallas, TX. From this union they had five children, Rick, Chuck, Karla, Steve, and James.

Leon worked as an electrical engineer for Texas Instruments. After moving to Nebraska in 1970, he worked as a computer technician for Honeywell. He was a member of VFW Post #4502.

He enjoyed reading, gardening and being outdoors.

Leon is survived by his wife of 64 years, Rebecca “Jean” Mika; children, Richard (Robin) Mika, Karla (Ira) Shapiro, James (Mary) Mika; daughters-in-law, Laurie Mika, Susan Mika; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Louise Mika; sons, Chuck and Steve Mika; sister, Mary Lou Mika.
