St. Vitus Catholic Church or Bishop Neumann High School
Ludvik J. Walla 82 of Touhy, entered into eternal rest August 30, 2016 at South Haven in Wahoo, NE. He was born November 24, 1933 in Touhy, NE to Ludvik and Mary (Chapek) Walla. He graduated from Valparaiso High School in 1950. On November 27, 1954, Ludvik was united in marriage to Loretta Ohnoutka at St. Vitus Catholic Church in Touhy. They made their home on a farm just west of Touhy.
During his high school years, Ludvik enjoyed playing basketball and was an excellent math student. After high school he became a teacher before working as a Post Master in Weston, NE for over 30 years. But Ludvik’s passion was farming and raising cattle. He was a simple man who liked playing horseshoes, listening to polka music, cheering for the Yankees and being with his family and friends.
Ludvik served his country in the U.S. Navy until he was honorably discharged. He was a member of the American Legion post #371 in Valparaiso. Ludvik was a parishioner at St. Vitus Catholic Church where he served as a trustee.
He is survived by his children, Darrell (Heather) Walla of Touhy, Chris (Suzanne) Walla of Bellevue, NE, Linda (Brian) Ohnoutka of Lincoln, Julie Walla of Wahoo; daughter-in-law, Kris Walla of Lincoln; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Masek of Valparaiso.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Loretta Walla; son, Rick Walla; parents; brothers, Bill, Ray and George Walla.
My deepest sympathy to the Walla family. Many fond memories of Ludvik.
