Michael “Doc” Joseph Martin passed away December 26, 2022 in Huntington Beach, CA at the age of 62. He was born September 16,1960 in Wahoo, NE, the second son of Patrick Sr. and Beverly Martin. He graduated from Bishop Neumann High School in 1979. He was a multi-sport athlete participating in football, basketball, and track. He was a proud member of Neumann’s 1977 Class C-1 State Champion football team. Mike also attempted to be in a school play but was dismissed after being caught sleeping under the stage. After attending Doane College for one year, he moved to Texas with his brother Jim and worked in telecommunications. He later moved to Huntington Beach, CA, opening his own telecommunication business named Aksarben. He owned and ran this business for over 30 years, often hiring friends and children of friends in need of a job. After selling his business Doc worked for Orange County, CA as a construction work site inspector.

Doc was the proud father of four children, Michael “Mikey”, Sierra, Jacob and Patrick. Mikey, along with his partner Johanna, gave Doc five grandchildren: Chloe, Aeyla, Sadie, Jhianna and Keira.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Patrick Sr. He is survived by his mother along with siblings, Patrick Jr. (Evelyn) Martin of Bennet, Jim (Judy) Martin of Houston, TX, Laurie (Ralph) Woita of Wahoo, Tim (Leda) Martin of Houston, TX, Ryan (Amy) Martin of Wahoo, and John (Stephanie) Martin of Lincoln, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. To Mike, family and friends meant everything and this is how he lived his life to the very end.

    Prayers for all the Martins. So sorry to hear of Mike’s death. It was my pleasure to coach many of the Martin kids. Mostly I appreciated the entire family! God bless you guys.

    My sympathies and condolences to all of Mikes family and friends. I have only the best memories of time spent with Mike. He almost always wore a smile and could easily make me laugh!
