Phillip Dale Richmond, age 60 of Lincoln, NE, passed away on April 18, 2024.

Phil was born in Omaha, Nebraska on August 27, 1963, to Raymond and Carol (Hartsook) Richmond.  He graduated from Wahoo High School and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.  He was a longtime journalist who was a member of former Nebraska Governor Ben Nelson’s press staff and a writer/editor for the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission. His publications were widely respected and enjoyed by readers across a variety of subjects from politics to outdoor pursuits.  He had a great love for natural landscapes, upland hunting, Husker sports, and National Public Radio.

Phil is survived by his sons, Ian Richmond of Lincoln, NE and Hunter Richmond of Colorado Springs, CO; father, Raymond Richmond of Wahoo, NE; sister, Julie Douglas of Valley, NE; brother, Matt (Krista) Richmond of Woodbury, MN; nieces, Sydney and Allison Richmond; longtime companion, Aimee Baade and her daughters, Nicole and Jordan Baade.

Phil was preceded in death by his mother, Carol Richmond, of Wahoo, NE; and his beloved German Shorthair, Mojo.
