Raymond J. Cich Sr., 84 of Ithaca, NE, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.  He was born May 22, 1929 in Omaha, NE to John and Sophie (Stanczyk) Cich.  Raymond grew-up in Sheelytown in Omaha and attended Immaculate Conception Catholic School.  On June 4, 1971, he was united in marriage to Maxine G. Tesmer.  Raymond worked for Kellogg’s for 42 years until his retirement. 

He was passionate about hunting and fishing and he always wanted to teach others.  Dancing to polka music and raising pigeons always brought him enjoyment.  Several awards were won by Raymond showing his pigeons.  He was a member of the Eagles Club and St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church.

He is survived by daughter, Cindy (Robert) Gottlieb of Missouri Valley, IA; sons, Mark (Jenny) Cich of Greenwood, NE and Raymond J. (Karen) Cich Jr. of Omaha; sisters, Sophie Peklo of Omaha and Mary Bryl of Omaha; special friend, Mary Ann Sokol of Rockville, NE; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Preceded in death by his wife, Maxine Cich.      

Rev. Charles Townsend will be officiating.

    God watch over you Ray! Thanks for all the hunting and fishing trips, mostly the over- nighter’s at Red Cedar, catching those huge catfish. I will always remember you.
