Raymond J. Furasek, 87, of Weston, NE, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 in Lincoln, NE. He was born August 28, 1936 in Touhy, NE to John and Rose (Salak) Furasek. Ray attended District 74 country school. On August 26, 1961, Ray was united in marriage to Joan Kuncl at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Prague, NE. He served his country in the U.S. Army until he was honorably discharged in 1962. Ray was a lifelong farmer and he also worked for Kingery Construction in Lincoln, NE.
Ray loved his family, the land and farming, and he was always proud of his garden. He enjoyed Husker Volleyball, crossword puzzles and researching local history. He was a member of St. Vitus Catholic Church and the Dwight American Legion Post #110.
He is survived by children, Bob (Jackie) Furasek of Weston, NE and Jackie (Mark) Polacek of Omaha, NE; grandchildren, Taylor (Matt) Miller, Cassi (Jay) Delgado, Ben (Gabby) Polacek, Josie (Dillon) Polacek, Billy (Tonya) Harsh, Chris Harsh and Tawny (B.J.) Brown; great-grandchild, London Miller; brother-in-law, Tom (Valerie) Kuncl; many step-great-grandchildren, other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Furasek; parents, John and Rose Furasek; sister, Rosie Furasek.
