Richard P. Espelund, 70 of Council Bluffs, IA, entered into rest on Sunday, June 15, 2014 at his home in Council Bluffs. He was born April 15, 1944 in St. James, MN to Palmer and Ragnhild (Bertilson) Espelund. Richard graduated from St. James High School in 1962 and then he entered the U.S. Army in 1966. He served his country during the Vietnam War until he was honorably discharged on January 22, 1968. On August 31, 1984 he was married to Lorraine Hradsky in Omaha, NE. He loved fishing, restoring old cars, and flying remote control airplanes.
He is survived by wife of 29 years, Lorraine; son, Jeff; daughter, Stacey; 5 grandchildren; brother, Jerome; sisters, Ruth Ann, Mary, and Judy.
Rev. Frank Baumert will be officiating.

So very sorry for your loss. Your caretaking of Richard was very inspiring to those of us with which you shared–I am sure having you by his side provided him with much comfort. Take care, my thoughts are with you.
