Rilla M. Sullivan, 89 of Wahoo, NE, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at the Hospice House in Omaha, NE. She was born on June 15, 1924 in Ashland, NE to Edward and Rilla (Foss) Kuhl. Rilla graduated from Ashland High School in 1942 and then went on to Duchesne College in Omaha, NE. She graduated in 1946 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. On August 28, 1948, Rilla was united in marriage to Robert E. Sullivan at Holy Name Catholic Church in Omaha, NE.
She was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Altar Rosary Society, and the Saunders Hospital Auxiliary. When living in Ashland, Rilla was the director of the choir at St. Mary Catholic Church. She was an excellent artist, golfer, and gardener. She played golf until the age of 84 and she was a club champion three times at Hilltop Country Club. She also loved to go fishing and mushroom hunting.
Rilla was preceded in death by husband, Robert E. Sullivan; brother, Richard Kuhl; sisters, Kathryn Easley, Helen Kuhl, and Josephine Donahue; son-in-law, Mike Watrus.
She is survived by children, Michael (Trish) Sullivan of Hastings, Patrick Sullivan of Wahoo, Jody (Richie) Poveromo of Fairplay, CO, Rilla (Robert) Eaton of Wahoo, Maggie (Darrell) Prochaska of Wahoo, Bob (Carmen) Sullivan of Hastings; 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Rev. Charles Townsend will be officiating.
Honorary pallbearers are Ryan Sullivan, Joseph Sullivan, Patrick Sullivan, Vito Poveromo, Griffin Sullivan, Nolan Sullivan, and Quinn Sullivan.

My heart goes out to all who mourn Rilla’s passing. I knew her through art classes in Fremont and thoroughly enjoyed her wit and talent. She lives in the hearts of those who love her and they live in her.
