Ronald R. Dobesh, 71 of Mead, NE went to meet his God on Sunday, January 26, 2014. Ron was born November 29, 1942 in Burke, SD and died at Lakeside Hospital in Omaha, NE.
Ron was the son of Elmer and Florence (Lund) Dobesh. He grew up on the family farm north of Burke, SD. He graduated from Gregory High School and attended Electronic School in Denver, CO. He worked in Omaha for the Bell Telephone for many years. In 1969 he went to New York City to work for AT&T. He met and married his wife, Ruth (Taylor) in 1969 and they made their home in Hazlet, NJ. Ron continued to work as an engineer at AT&T, later becoming a supervisor there. In 1984 following the death of his father, they moved to SD and Ron ran the family farm. He loved the farm, especially his cattle. In 1994 he severely injured his back in an auto accident and retired from farming. He and Ruth continued to live on the farm. Ron worked as a youth counselor and later as a cashier and security officer in Deadwood, SD. In 2007 the farm was sold and they moved to Mead, NE. Ron spent many hours there working in his garden. He and Ruth also wintered in Texas in their camper. In Texas they attended the Cowboy Church and Ron loved being a part of that. Ron loved his God, family, especially his grandchildren, and all animals, especially his dogs.
Ron is survived by his wife, Ruth, of Mead, NE, his sons Ron (Misty) Dobesh of Papillion, NE, Paul (Stacey) Dobesh of Omaha, NE, and David (Paula) Dobesh of Kansas City, MO, step-son Mike (Kacee) Craven of Denver, CO, sister LaVerle (Don) Bails of Omaha, NE, brother Dennis (Arlene) Dobesh of Newton, IA, sister Gayle (Gary) Mailloux of Columbus, OH, grandchildren Nathan, Daniel, Emily, Alexandra, Kaija and Tyler, many nieces and nephews, his dog CoCo and cat Precious.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, father-in-law, mother-in-law, grandson Richard, three brothers-in-law, and one sister-in-law.
Pastor John Schnell will be officiating.
Pallbearers are Nathan Dobesh, Brad Dobesh, Scott Dobesh, Daniel Bails, Bill Taylor and Gary Mailloux.
Matthew 28:20 “And surely I am with you always, even unto the end of the age” – God’s promise to you Ruth and the entire family.
To My brother MUCH LOVE
I only knew Ron a short time, but enjoyed that time very much. He was a man who loved his Lord and his family and enjoyed talking about both. May God be with all of you during this difficult time.
I’m so sorry to learn of Ron’s passing. May he find rest and peace in the arms of Jesus. If I was in Omaha, I would attend his funeral. We will be in Savannah until sometime in March. Love to all of the Dobesh clan….I think the world of y’all.
My sincere sympathy to you, Ruth and your family. We have lost a lot of classmates. I’ve always enjoyed you and Ron visiting at the class reunion. We will miss him. Did you know we lost Bob Bailey recently too.
Ron, we will miss you so much. We admired your walk with the Lord and the wonderful family that you and Ruth raised. We are celebrating with you in your graduation to heaven and hope to join you there someday!
What a welcome you must have received in Heaven. You surely had lots of Dobesh’s waiting there to welcome you and bring you into the circle. I have such fond memories of our times together Ronnie, they will always be cherished. You are missed.
My deepest sympathies to my Aunt Ruth and the family. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. We are all so saddened by Ron’s passing. I have many fond memories of Ron from our visits to the farm. May you find comfort in loving memories and may God by with you.
My condolences to the Dobesh family and relatives on the death of my former father -in – law, Ron Dobesh.
