Rose Emma Meduna was born on a farm southwest of Weston on April 12, 1920 to Frank and Mary (Woita) Pacula.  She attended District 74 grade school and then Wahoo Catholic High School.  After working as a nanny in Lincoln, she met Vennie Meduna and they were married at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Weston on March 8, 1943.

She and Vennie enjoyed dancing regularly.  Other interests included playing cards, baking kolaches, helping on the farm and spending time with family.  Rose was an active member of Catholic Daughters, Christian Mothers, and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Colon.  She organized first Friday adorations, was a member of the Choir and the Altar Sodality.  On July 5, 2014, Rose passed away at FAMC Hospice in Fremont at the age of 94.  Her husband, Vennie, died in 2011 also at the age of 94.

Rose is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Alice Meduna; grandchildren, William (Becky) Meduna of Colon, Mary (Marco) Gross of Chicago, IL, and Susan (Allen) Chohon of Wahoo; great-grandchildren, Chris, Sarah, Anna, Isaac, Paul, Max, Joe, Lena, and Gabriel Meduna; John, Alicia, Therese, Philip, Monica, Grace, Peter, James, and Andrew Chohon.  Rose was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and all her siblings, by infant grandson, Mark J.
