Rose L. Furasek, 88, of Weston, NE, entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 17, 2019 at South Haven Living Center in Wahoo, NE.  She was born November 26, 1930 in Osceola, NE to John and Dora Kantor.  Rose graduated from Silver Creek High School in Silver Creek, NE.  On August 21, 1954, she was married to George J. Furasek at St. Mary Catholic Church in Pilzno, NE (rural Osceola).  Rose worked at Hakel’s restaurant as a cook for many years until her retirement.

Rose was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Weston and the St. John’s PCCW.  She loved flowers, BINGO and all animals.  Through her life, Rose was very devoted to the Blessed Mother and the Rosary.  She was always willing to donate her time and she enjoyed helping the elderly.

She is survived by her children, George Furasek and Cheryl L. (Doug) Handler; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George J. Furasek; infant daughter, Mary Louise Furasek; grandson, Joshua Furasek; brothers, Edmond Kantor, Raymond Kantor, Louie Kantor, Johnny Kantor, Clifford Kantor and Valerian Kantor; sisters, Florence Konwinski, Clara Bojan, Genevieve Konwinski, Helen Bojanski and Marian Matyja; infant siblings, Dorothy and Helen Kantor.

    WHAT A WONDERFUL LADY i worked with her for many year she was a great worker also i lived in weston and she was a very kind person. she loved her children very much, they were always in her conversations she will be missed by many friends and family. my heart is sad for you georgie and cheryl.

    Cheryl, I’m so sorry for the loss of your Mother. It is so very difficult to get passed. Always remember how big her smile was when we would go to Hakel’s to eat-The rest of my family would sit down & we had to catch-up on a few things.
