Rose Marie Cadek, 92 of Wahoo, NE formerly of Valparaiso, NE entered into eternal rest on Monday, March 18, 2024 at Saunders Medical Center LTC in Wahoo, NE.  She was born April 1, 1931 to Jacob and Frances (Trouba) Rezac on a farm north of Touhy, NE.  She had a sister, Agnes, and a brother, Jim. When she was 10 years old the family moved to Omaha, NE.  Rose attended St. Bernard Catholic Grade School in Benson and graduated from Benson High School.

She worked for over 20 years at Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company before retiring in 1987.  Rose married Albert Cadek of Burwell, NE on June 5, 1954.  They had one son, Robert.  She was a member of Sts. Mary & Joseph Catholic Church PCCW, American Legion Auxiliary Post #371, Women’s Club and Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary #154 in south Omaha and was active in the Valparaiso Senior Center.  She was proud of her Czech heritage and loved to dance.  She met Al on New Year’s Eve at a dance at Sokol Auditorium in Omaha.  She enjoyed bowling, tending her flowers, playing cards, embroidering, and sewing sequins and beads on Christmas items.

Christmas was her favorite holiday, decorating her tree with over 100 Czech and German ornaments.  She also collected a plethora of Santa figurines to which she eventually pawned off to all of her grandchildren on any occasion.  She kept her phone warm talking to family and friends along with keeping their mailboxes full of handwritten letters and cards.  Most of all she enjoyed her small family of 10.  Her family remembers one of her signature characteristics as being a lady full of class; keeping up with hair appointments even in her 90’s and wearing the most beautiful jewelry, broaches, and scarves.

Rose is survived by her son, Robert (Dawn) Cadek of Raymond, NE; granddaughter, Megan (Michael) Dvorak of Lincoln, grandson, Brian (Chantelle) Cadek of Des Moines, IA; great-grandchildren, Madison Muller, Elijah, Chase, and Baby Dvorak due in May of Lincoln, Jameson Cadek of Des Moines, IA; sisters-in-law, Evelyn (Jim) Rezac of Bennington, NE and Marie (Ron) Brauer of Tampa, FL; many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. She is also survived by her godchildren, Barbara Motsenbocker, Roger Mendenhall, Michael Rezac and Emily Wentry.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; stepfather, Jerry Makousky; brother, James Rezac; sister, Agnes (Richard) Stillmock; stepsister, Betty (Marcus) Schnack.
