Sylvia H. Simanek, 88 of Wahoo, NE, entered into eternal rest on Monday, August 24, 2015 at the Saunders Medical Center in Wahoo. She was born on March 21, 1927 in Wahoo, NE to Martin and Rose (Dolezal) Wotipka. Sylvia grew-up on a farm near Wahoo and graduated from Wahoo High School in 1944. On November 4, 1950, she married Charles E. Simanek Jr. They made their home in Malmo, NE where they farmed for many years. After retiring they moved to Lincoln for 10 years. They returned to Wahoo where Sylvia has since resided.

Sylvia enjoyed many trips to the Czech Republic and many other countries. Sylvia and Charlie donated numerous gallons of blood to the Saunders County Red Cross.

Left to cherish her memory is sister, Lillian Vanek of Wahoo; and nine nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Simanek Jr.; parents; brother, Martin Wotipka; sister, Marjorie Vanek; and her beloved dogs, Sammy and Debbie.
