William Lynn Chmelka Jr., 68 of Prague, NE, entered into eternal rest on Friday, February 21, 2014 at South Haven Living Center in Wahoo, NE. He was born September 5, 1945 in Prague, NE to William Sr. and Rose (Janecek) Chmelka. Bill was a 1963 graduate of Prague High School. After high school, he served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War until being honorably discharged on February 11, 1966.
Bill was a lifelong resident of Prague, a member of the Prague American Legion Post #254, and a past member of the Wahoo Vol. Fire Department. He enjoyed watching Gun Smoke and Matlock. He also loved cars and playing with his grandchildren.
Bill is survived by children, Bill (Sabrina) Chmelka of Wisconsin, Chris (Gina) Chmelka of Wisconsin, Jeremy (Beckie) Chmelka of David City, NE, Jason (Ann) Chmelka of Prague, NE, Dustin (Kayla) Chmelka of Wahoo, NE, CJ (Nicole) Chmelka of Fremont, NE, Amanda Chmelka of Wahoo, NE, and Faith Chmelka of Wahoo, NE; grandchildren, Willow, Samantha, Bret, Rick, Kailynn, William, Bryson, Isaiah, Bryson, and Hailey.
Preceded in death by parents William and Rose Chmelka; brother, Donald Chmelka.
